Christian in Japan

In Japan, it feels like everywhere you go you see either shrines or temples. What I liked the most about this trip to Karuizawa, is that instead of temples and shrine, there was a stone church made by a christian named Uchimura Kanzo. There was a museum on the side which professed his heart for 2 Js. Jesus and Japan.

In his grave inscription, it read,

"I for Japan,
Japan for the World,
The World for Christ,
And All for God"

I've always felt awkward taking pictures with famous temples and shrines (like in Kyoto) but here, I felt soooo at home.

those pictures are beautiful. your post reminded me of how lonely it probably is being a christian in japan. very cool you were able to find a place like this!
