tiring...

so far, i've gone to 5 different showrooms and finally got the feel of what i want for my "dream house". i've narrowed it down to TOTO bathroom toilet or INAX toilet. i don't really use the washlet function but now days, all the toilet has its function included. it still scares me to even think of water spraying out from the toilet to my butt and never pushed that button. amazing how toilet has come a long way. i knew about the sensor toilet where you just stand in front of it and it opens... and flush for you when you are done and closes the lid for you when you leave. it also comes with music function where you can set types of music for specific time of the day. (like you can hear birds chirping in the morning and classical music in the middle of the day...) another new thing that they come out is a function where it washes and cleans itself... so you don't need to scrub it at all. it also has a dim light in the toilet bowl so that you, guys, won't "miss" when going at night and you don't need to turn on the bathroom light that blinds your eyes at middle of the night. maybe the newest of all is the tankless toilet.. yup, no tank in the back so to make the bathroom more spacious. sigh... so many functions. i just want it to do one thing... to flush our dumps without getting stuck.

toto showroom in shinjuku

then i went to the panasonic showroom in shiodome... that's close to ginza.
i went there to check out their lighting. so many varieties. since we are thinking of building 3 story house, i would need to decide on lot of lights!!!
this is what my corner of my room look like right now. bags and bags full of catalogs.
for some reason, one music keeps coming to my mind as i plan for our house. the song is what i learned from vbs when i was... in elementary school or in jr. high. the music is based from the parable of the great banquet in Luke 14:15~24 where Jesus calls us to His banquet but we make excuses of not going because we are busy with life.

The Parable of the Great Banquet

15 When one of those at the table with him heard this, he said to Jesus, “Blessed is the man who will eat at the feast in the kingdom of God.”

16 Jesus replied: “A certain man was preparing a great banquet and invited many guests. 17 At the time of the banquet he sent his servant to tell those who had been invited, ‘Come, for everything is now ready.’

18 “But they all alike began to make excuses. The first said, ‘I have just bought a field, and I must go and see it. Please excuse me.’

19 “Another said, ‘I have just bought five yoke of oxen, and I’m on my way to try them out. Please excuse me.’

20 “Still another said, ‘I just got married, so I can’t come.’

21 “The servant came back and reported this to his master. Then the owner of the house became angry and ordered his servant, ‘Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind and the lame.’

22 “ ‘Sir,’ the servant said, ‘what you ordered has been done, but there is still room.’

23 “Then the master told his servant, ‘Go out to the roads and country lanes and make them come in, so that my house will be full. 24 I tell you, not one of those men who were invited will get a taste of my banquet.’ ”

i don't quite remember the lyric but if my memory serves me correctly, it went like:

i can not come
i can not come to the banquet
don't trouble me now
i have married a wife
i have bought me a cow
i have fields and commitments,
la la laa la la (this part i forgot)
la la la laa la la (this part i forgot too)
i can not come.

whenever i sing the part, "i have fields..." i think about the plot of land that we now own... may it never hinder me from obeying and following Jesus!

by the way, if anyone reading this knows the lalala part, please help me remember! i would love to sing the whole thing without a pause!

I have fields and commitments that cost a pretty sum.
Pray, hold me excused, I cannot come.
