Kawagoe Matsuri

Last weekend was the annual Kawagoe Festival. The long strip of main street was blocked from the city hall to the station. We went for food, food, and lots of foooood!

This was the first time ever to see のび〜〜〜〜るアイス!It's Turkish ice cream where it can stretch realllly long. This, I had to try! I wonder what they put in the ingredient to make it stretch like that?

Then we had chocolate covered banana on the stick. They have the jyanken game where if you win, you get to have 2 sticks. Unfortunately, my kids tied or lost so got one stick each and I only had a bite from them.

This is one of their favorites. Buttered potato. So simple... yet very yummy. This year, they not only had butter, salt and corn to put on top, they also had miso sauce which actuallly tasted pretty good on it!

Then there's takoyaki. yummmmm. sooooo good.

We were blown away by the size of this okonomiyaki.

My daughter was getting really good at scooping fish with thin paper. she got 5 goldfish before the paper scooper tore!

This time might be the last time that my kids will go with me. They are older now and rather go with their friends.... Since it's held for two days, they went with their friends on the first day and were dragged by me on the second day. hahaha.
