groundbreaking ceremony

Psalm 127:1

Unless the LORD builds the house,
its builders labor in vain.
Unless the LORD watches over the city,
the watchmen stand guard in vain.

today was our kikoushiki (groundbreaking ceremony) for our home to be. for most japanese, they have a shinto (i think it's shinto) priest doing the ceremony. how weird that they do this even though many don't profess to believe in any religion.

i don't ever recall seeing a "groundbreaking ceremony" in the states and never have experienced one until today. we had our uncle who is also a pastor praying over for the place, the contractor, and the carpenters. christian ceremony is the first ever that our contractor ever experienced. i don't know if he got anything out of the message but i hope a little tiny seed was planted today.

we also got the blueprint layout approval from the city hall today and so the construction will begin next week!!! wohoo!
