monaka's water broke at 8:00am and she started to pant and became restless. she was going through each room, trying to decide where to give birth. in spite of all the places we had prepared for her to give birth, she chose to give birth at this room... the computer room... on the hard wood floor! by 9:00 the first one popped out and good thing i was right in behind to catch it! it's amazing how monaka was able to do everything by instinct. she cut off the umbilical cord (or whatever that it is attached to it) cut off the membrane that was surrounding the puppy and ate it which helps me a lot in terms of cleaning! just as the breeder had told us, it was black! pitch black! it's so black that it reminds of makkuro kurosuke.

the vet had told us that the second one would come about 30min to an hour. but the second one started to wiggle out about 10 minutes later.

the 3rd one was about by 11am. very fast delivery. it's amazing to see how by instinct, monaka was able to do everything and knew everything about how to be a mom. it's amazing to see LIFE. too bad kids were in school and missed out on the delivery. but i got it all on video. (^^)
when i figure out how to install video, i will post it for all those who are interested.
it still boggles me that brown(bill, dad) and red(monaka, mom) makes black... but man, they are soooo cute! i wish caleb, jules, or any other photographers can teach me how to take good puppy pictures...
oh yeah, the 3rd one? boy too. (^o^)
