life is short

Life is too short.

Yui's mom passed away last night. She was only 35. Yui doesn't know that her mom is gone and I certainly won't be the one telling her. I still wonder if it was the right thing to take Yui away from the family during the very last days of her mom's life. But according to my husband, the dad was stressed out from all the things that's happening and couldn't take care of Yui by himself. Mom was suffering so much and it's not a scene which a kindergartener should see because she could be traumatized. Yui didn't want to be home anymore and didn't even want to get off from the school bus to come home. My husband noticed that she was acting strange and weird and that's why we took her in for the time being before Yui, herself, goes crazy. She'll be staying with us until the funeral which is on Wednesday. I feel so bad for her. She's gone through so much already and from this week on, she'll face more and more challenges of life without her mother by her side.

I am glad to have helped a little bit to this family during their peak of their difficulty. Yuka and I are a little tired out from watching over her. Though she's a very good kid, there were times where she would cry or pout if things don't go as she want it to. She wouldn't even eat a bite of the dinner I especially made for her. sigh... little by little though, I have figured out what she likes and what she doesn't like. I think Monaka is a little stressed out from being chased around by her. hahaha. We were so glad to hear that Yui's dad is feeling and acting much better now and the grandma has agreed to help raise the little girl. We have 2 more days with her and we hope we can make these two days as good memories in her life.

Grace, I'm so glad you were there for the little girl. Bless your heart for the kindness you have shown, I know it had made a world of difference for her (even if it doesn't feel like it right now).

i'm very inspired by your generosity for Yui-chan. You might not know it, but I think it makes a huge difference in her life. I'm so happy you guys did it. (but i'm pretty sure it was a stretch for the whole family!) Ma-kun mo sugoi.
I hope everything works out for her family...
